Believe, Inspire, Achieve
Our school council consists of two representatives from each year group from Year 1 to Year 6. Each member is elected by their peers in a democratic way through an election. We meet every 3 weeks, and discuss a range of subjects to help improve our school and the local community.
Each member of our council, has an important role to play – ranging from chairman to treasurer. The children take full responsibility for leading our meetings as well as feeding back to the rest of their class. We work closely with the Head teacher and the Governors, to suggest improvements and share our good news with them.
The school council have been very successful in launching initiatives in school, including SUPERSTARS, and ‘Caught you being good’. Every two weeks, the School Council nominate their SUPERSTAR from their class and this person gets to have afternoon tea with the Head teacher. We believe in praising good behaviour, and through the ‘caught you being good’ scheme the children are given a green raffle ticket if they are doing the right thing. These raffle tickets go into our ‘fish bowl’ and are drawn out during our achievement assembly each Friday. These children win a prize for their efforts.
